A great piece of harmony vocal from the 'survivors' section of Milliontown.

Old topic but, I've been listening to this snippet for a long time now, and I can't help but ask.. is that heavy use of ring modulation? The reason I ask is that there are a lot more harmonics then there are voices there (Isn't it mainly three during the "Games, that you people play" part?) Sometimes it sounds like it's a whole choir in the back there using a lot of air.. Or is it just that you sort of sing with lots of air, and then try to emphasize the natural coloration of harmonics that your voice makes.. or both? Razz

Stumbling a little bit in the dark here, but as this vocal section is by far the best produced one I've ever heard, it would be nice to know. And you are fully reserved with the right to remain silent about it. Razz

I think I've got nodes on my vocal chords, I seem to be able to generate harmonics when I'm singing. Sometimes it's very musical, other times it sounds like I need a bloody good cough. I've smoked, drank and generally misbehaved with my nose and throat region during my life so much so far that I doubt I'll even have a voice come my 70th birthday.

Even now, my speaking voice is noticeably lower than it was 10 years ago. And that's even with me not smoking any more...

Yeah I think so too. No offense to Mr. D. Burke, he's an awesome singer, but I wish you'd be the voice of Frost* forever. Your bit in Wonderland is darn tootin' fantastic (not to mention this survivors clip - holy moly).

I'd be happy to have a voice as good as that - mine is too deep, and I've never been happy with anything I've recorded Sad

Yo J, I love your voice man.

But if I put this sample on my iPod with all my other frost* goodies, it'd come really randomly and make me feel kinda uncomfortable Laughing

(a capella stuff always does that to me for some reason. Imagine a bunch of people just singing right in front of your face. that's how I feel.)

Ten years ago, you were eight...

...at least that's how it feels to me.

No he was 4!
I was listening to Milliontown today and I really am not convinced Jem is singing on it! Wink

Not taking anything away from Dec but I always thought Jem did a great job on Milliontown. His vocals had a breathy quality not dissimilar to that of Green Gartside which I loved.

That's going back some, I used to love The Scrits!
However, I still don't think it sounds like Jem's voice except for one little bit where he does a shouty thing. I'm not saying I don't like it tho'. Very Happy

No Decrementing here either but I liked the vocal work on Milliontown too. He is too hard on himself.
