Cool, but I think I'm seeing too many notes in the riff? I might be wrong though, I don't tend to work with sheet music much at all.

Thanks Very Happy , Tho' I agree with Pedders, there does seem to be too many notes... however, as I am not capable of playing this I will take it home and have it analysed later today.

i.e. put it infront of the kids and say ... Play This!

Worked fine for me. Rapidshare limits the number of free downloads you can pull from the server by making you wait for some period between downloads. Wonder if that is what you are missing. If you still have problems, PM me and I'll email you a copy as it is a small PDF file.

I would play it an octave lower and would remove the spurious F# that is in there on the riff (the 5th note in each sequence).

Woopsies! The 5th note was supposed to have a tie connected to it but instead I just changed it to an 8th note and I fixed the octave in which its notated.

Well do- Oh wait. I just tried to play it. And my hands tripped over each other. Traffic jams for five miles. But seriously, you moved the right hand down an octave (good), lost the weird extra not (also good), but now its basically in the same place as the left hand! Confused You might want to move the left hand bit down an octave or two. You've almost got it, just fix the last little bits. Mainly because at the moment it's impossible for people to play! Well, those with four fingers and one thumb per hand anyway.

FINALLY!!!

After thinking the whole lot had taken a trip down the kaiber in a corrupted hard drive, I've managed to successfuly retrieve my transcription of Hyper so far! Granted it took about 30 computer restarts and a very tense 10 minutes to copy stuff over but by jove I've got it!

As a result, the first half(ish) of Hyperventilate Piano should hopefully find its way onto this forum shortly...

A few notes about the transcription:

It isn't the easiest...(thanks Jem) as you'll have no doubt guessed listening to the thing, so the score does look a little scary if you're not much of a music reader...Shocked

That said, for the section beginning at bar 49, its all about hearing it more than trying to read it. What I've written is technically how it's played but just think of that part as a constant running of semiquavers. i.e, when you're not doing anything in the right hand, you're playing something in the left and vice versa. You play notes 'in between' the main melody in the right hand which is why it sounds so brilliant and percussive. it only looks so horrible because it's so syncopated in each part.

Also, when learning that bit, start really slow (i had to learn it as i was working out how to write it hence the advice!!!) and get used to the rhythms in each hand and get it flowing nicely. It is quite a closely contained part and your hands are very close together so getting it sounding smooth is essential. You'll soon be able to pick up the speed though and get it sounding awesome!!!

Now if you'll excuse me, I have the rest to finish not to mention solo's in 5/4 to tackle Smile Very Happy
